Today’s Visions

Photography that captures today’s visions for tomorrow’s memories

Spring in the backyardI think the beauty of spring can be captured anywhere.

No need to get in the car and pay over $4 a gallon for gas — just walk in your yard and bask in the beauty that surrounds you.

I started this journey through my yard to take photos of the blooming dogwood for my best friend – Barbara. We had been talking about their lacey appearance a few days ago and since the dogwood is not prevalent in Oklahoma, I thought I would send her some shots of it.

The following photos were taken in my backyard. There are photos of all the beauty that spring brings — flowers, weeds and even insects.

  1. Barbe Said,

Your spring photos are gorgeous. Makes me homesick for the eastern springtimes I remember. Spring in Cincinnati always overwhelmed me because it was so beautiful and I had never seen anything like it. The Dogwood are graceful, then of course all the others are so beautiful as well. Truly, our Creator does magnificant work on earth! Keep taking those lovely photos!

When Alexander the Great visited Diogenes and asked whether he could do anything for the famed teacher, Diogenes replied: ‘Only stand out of my light.’ Perhaps some day we shall know how to heighten creativity. Until then, one of the best things we can do for creative men and women is to stand out of their light. — John W. Gardner (1912 – 2002)
