Long Island Museum in Stony Brook, New YorkThe Long Island Museum in Stony Brook, New York has chosen one of my photos to hang in the juried art show “Summer in Long Island”. I am so thrilled and honored.

The awards reception is on August 17th from 2pm - 4pm. And the finalist show will run from August 17th thru September 1st. The winning pieces of art will continue to be displayed thru September 21st.

Come see me and the other artists on August the 17th or make a little time to visit the museum while the show is hanging.

I will post my photo and an article about the reception later this month.

I feel so honored… My friend Antonella, A Quilling BlogSpot, presented me with the Arte e Pico award. Antonella is a great artist and a wonderful friend. Thank you so much, my friend!
According to the rules, you have to pay it forward and follow the following steps:

1. Choose 5 blogs that you consider deserving of this award based on creativity, design, interesting material, and overall contribution to the blogger community, regardless of the language.

2. Post the name of the author and a link to his or her blog so everyone can view it.
3. Each award-winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award.
4. The award-winner and the presenter should post the link of the “Arte y Pico” blog so everyone will know the origin of this award.
The “Arte y Pico” blog is written in Spanish, however, here is a link for a relatively good English translation that Antonella shared on her site.
5. Please post these rules!
Okay. Here are my five pics:

The Thistle patch is beginning to dry up but the bees and butterflys are still eating.

Randall Pond is one of those areas that fascinates me. It has a quiet beauty that brings peace to the mind and soul and I never fail to enjoy any of my walks there.

So much so, that I have decided to do a series of photos from this beautiful site. “A Year at Randall Pond” will be exhibited at the Longwood Public Library in November of 2009.

Keep watching as the months unfold. See July’s photos now …
