Midnight Oils, Mills Pond Gallery, Smithtown, New York
My work has been accepted into another juried art show. This one, sponsored by the Smithtown Arts Council, is entitled Midnight Oils, a fine arts exhibition celebrating frightening subject matters cast in a philosophic, romantic, or humorous light. Juror Alain Khadem, a Long Island-based artist, choose my piece along with 31 other pieces from the 1000s of works that were submitted from local, national and international artists.
The exhibit will be on view at The Mills Pond House Gallery in St. James, October 4 – November 1, 2008. The public is invited to an opening reception Saturday, October 11, 5-7 pm to meet exhibiting artists and view their work. I hope to meet some of my blog readers there.
While I will not share the work that has been accepted into the show, I will tell you that I choose to exhibit death in a romantic light. Come see the exhibit - and if you can’t, I will post my work here after the show.
