Today’s Visions

Photography that captures today’s visions for tomorrow’s memories

Futures - Photograph by Sherril Barnes. 2nd Place winnerThis photograph was taken on the streets of Soho, New York, New York. I tried to take pictures of the city to expand my portfolio but could not seem to pickup the emotion I felt there. The excitement, the stress, the never-stop rush that I always feel when I am there. Unfortunately, when I tried to photograph the buildings and area the photos seemed cold – indifferent. Not at all what I was trying to achieve. Until I took this shot!

The magazine page was just lying on the street – being kicked around by the numerous people walking on the sidewalk. I loved the texture of the sidewalk and bricks as well as the worn look of the magazine page.

This recently hung in a Riverhead, New York art show where it won 2nd place.

You can enjoy this 8 x 10 photograph, printed on high quality metallic paper, matted and framed in an 11 x 14 frame. It is being sold in my etsy store. Does not ship with the ribbon however, lol.

Most people are not really free. They are confined by the niche in the world that they carve out for themselves. They limit themselves to fewer possibilities by the narrowness of their vision. — V. S. Naipaul
