Today’s Visions

IndividualityAnna walked out of the office barely holding back her tears. She had just been fired again. And it was so unjust! She simply had to paint her nails for her party tonight. What if she didn’t get to the phone quick enough? After all, the company had a great voice mail system. What difference did it make whether she answered the phone or the machine answered the phone anyway? And Alice had been so snotty about it, reminding her of all the other times she had been asked not to let the phone go to voice mail. Really! So Alice fired her. Did she have to bring up the past?

As Anna started to walk through the bustling crowd of people around her she began to cry in earnest. It just was not fair. Everyone else was so happy. They had money to spend and seemed to be doing exactly what they wanted. Why couldn’t she start to get ahead?

This mandala was created from a shot of a church in SohoIf you have read my blog on ‘Futures’ then you know that my time spent in New York City trying to capture the feel of that great city in pictures was a bust — besides the picture Futures. So, I was left with a great many pictures that seemed to have no purpose - may as well delete them.

But STOP! I found a use for them and many of my other photos that do not have the high quality of compositional value that I expect.

Wild Grass after first snow of the year.  Ridge, Long Island, New York, USA

I must have got up on the wrong side of the bed today. My day started bad and went downhill from there. Here are a few of the ‘wrongs’ that I was feeling:

• I just knew all my recent decisions were wrong
• My hair looked horrible - I just could not get it to behave
• I was not feeling loved - people just hang around me because they need something
• I was heading off to work for yet another day of no respect
• I was fat, ugly and I had no shoes to wear

So you see my day was horrible. You can surely understand why I was griping and whining.
