Typically, when a person thinks on death they think of - darkness, dust and worms. The thoughts provoke fear and discomfort. While in Middle Island, New York I saw this tombstone and just knew I had to take the shot.

This photograph was taken on the streets of Soho, New York, New York. I tried to take pictures of the city to expand my portfolio but could not seem to pickup the emotion I felt there. The excitement, the stress, the never-stop rush that I always feel when I am there. Unfortunately, when I tried to photograph the buildings and area the photos seemed cold - indifferent. Not at all what I was trying to achieve. Until I took this shot! Read the rest of this entry »
Everyone who reads my posts knows how much I love Randall Pond with it beautiful water reflections, the great assortment of animals and insects, the beautiful folliage and the peace and serentity that I find there.
My walk through Randall Pond in October was even more breathtaking than usual. I went on a day that followed several days of rain. It was windy, cold and overcast. Truthfully, I set out only because I knew I needed pictures for the month of October - not from any real desire to be out on the nasty day. Read the rest of this entry »
Well, in continuation of my ‘Year at Randall Pond’ I did a walk through in September with my camera. For those who are interested, I use a Olympus E-410. IT has proven to be a wonderful cameral to learn about appurature, lightening effects, shutter speed, etc … All without driving my poor little mind crazy.
Anyway, back to randall pond. As the pictures show, the colors are beginning to change already. Soon the trees will be in full fall colors - oranges, yellows, reds … At this time, just a few trees have changed - but that does not diminish the beauty of this area.
See all the pictures …
Well Randall Pond was beautiful this month, as it always has been.
The greens were deeper with summer full upon us and although we have had a fair amount of rain, the pond has really dried out.
This has been the first time that I have been able to walk around the entire pond bank.
My shoes got really muddy and I had to dodge a few trees - but I made it around the entire place.
Randall Pond is one of those areas that fascinates me. It has a quiet beauty that brings peace to the mind and soul and I never fail to enjoy any of my walks there.
So much so, that I have decided to do a series of photos from this beautiful site. “A Year at Randall Pond” will be exhibited at the Longwood Public Library in November of 2009.
Keep watching as the months unfold. See July’s photos now …
