Enchanted Interlude SeriesI would like to introduce my newest series of works called the “Enchanted Interlude” Series. Presently, this series has twenty-four photographs being used for Notecards, Affirmation Pocket Cards and Keyrings.

They are photos that I have taken over the past year around the Long Island area and show the best of nature and of man and nature co-existing.

Complete view of Randall Pond

Well Randall Pond was beautiful this month, as it always has been.

The greens were deeper with summer full upon us and although we have had a fair amount of rain, the pond has really dried out.

Metro NY Balloon Festival 2008

Metro NY Balloon Festival 2008

The crowds gathered to walk thru this huge festival this past weekend Friday the 8th, Saturday the 9th and Sunday the 10th.

I, unfortunately, never saw the 30+ Hot Air Balloons and the bands were playing the hip hop music that I have yet to learn to appreciate so I contented myself to walk thru the festival with camera at alert watching and enjoying all the sights, sounds and smells that give us our memories of these fabulous events.

It was a wonderful festival. Continue reading to see a small part of the photos that I took on Saturday while I enjoyed the Balloon and Music Festival. Read the rest of this entry »

The Thistle patch is beginning to dry up but the bees and butterflys are still eating.

Randall Pond is one of those areas that fascinates me. It has a quiet beauty that brings peace to the mind and soul and I never fail to enjoy any of my walks there.

So much so, that I have decided to do a series of photos from this beautiful site. “A Year at Randall Pond” will be exhibited at the Longwood Public Library in November of 2009.

Keep watching as the months unfold. See July’s photos now …

Never thought orange and purple would go together - till I saw this butterfly.

These pictures were taken at the same time as the Randell Pond pictures were taken.  In fact they were taken in the parking lot across from the Randall Pond Trail Head.

I walked over to take a close up of the thistle itself and was greeted with a multitude of flying butterflies, bees and other insects.

While I continued to stand quietly in the center of the patch, they soon settled down and began eating again.  Then I was able to start taking their photos. Read the rest of this entry »
